On Sunday, April 19, 2026, the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum celebrated the accomplishments of our volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.

In 2025, our volunteer team served for a record-breaking 31,000 hours!  We also welcomed more than 56,000 visitors last year, and this would not have been possible without the hard work of each one of our volunteers.

This year’s theme was “Celebrating our Stars,” and volunteers had the chance to walk down our red carpet and enjoy the celebrity experience.

The main event of the evening was our volunteer awards.  First, we presented the first-ever Pennsylvania Trolley Museum Volunteer Service Awards. These recognized volunteers for their service in 2025.  Our Bronze Award recognizes volunteers who served for 100+ hours.  Our Silver Award recognizes volunteers who served for 250+ hours as well as young adult volunteers who served for 175+ hours.  Finally, our Gold Award celebrates volunteers who served for 500+ hours, as well as teen volunteers who served for 100+ hours and young adult volunteers who served for 250+ hours.  You can see a full list of award winners at the end of this blog post.

Then, it was time for some special awards!  First, Art Rizzino was awarded the President’s Award for his exceptional work with our mobile equipment and trolley cars.  Then, Executive Director Jeanine DeBor presented Beau Miller with the Executive Director’s Award for his skill and dedication regarding the electrical systems in our buildings.

We also presented the following volunteers with awards in appreciation of their work: Mike Curley, recipient of the Special Events Award, Jennifer Shaeffer, recipient of the Interdepartmental Award, Fred Cooley, recipient of the Behind-the-Scenes Star Award, Dave Berg, recipient of the Rookie Award, Devin Mooney, recipient of the Next Generation Award, and Jim Herrington, recipient of the Education Award.  Finally, the 2025 Operator of the Year Award was given to Tim Sheffield.

Thanks a million to everyone who volunteered last year or supported or Museum in other ways!  We couldn’t have accomplished so much without your help.  Be sure to check out the following photos from our dinner to see some of the fun.
