Volunteer

Come and Join Us!

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is a nonprofit educational organization that depends largely on volunteers for its continued operation and success.  We invite your participation and support in museum activities through a PTM membership.

Volunteers at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum feel a strong responsibility to preserve this part of Americana for future generations. We have endeavored to assemble a representative collection of the types of streetcars, interurbans, and special purpose equipment that have served the people of our region since the earliest street railways.

We consider restoring, displaying, interpreting and operating the cars a labor of love. We hope that you too will join with us in this enjoyment as often as possible and that you will treat the cars, their appointments, and equipment as the irreplaceable antiques that they are. With almost sixty years as an all-volunteer organization, the Museum built a strong foundation of volunteerism, which is a major component of its success.

In addition to six paid staff members, the Museum has more than 150 regular volunteers who serve in every capacity involved in the day-to-day operation. With the Museum currently engaged in a dramatic and exciting expansion program, it’s an exciting time to be involved…and where else can you have so much fun?
