Welcome to a summer camp experience like no other! The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is excited to offer seven weeks of STEAM-centered summer camps. Our summer camps are packed full of engaging hands-on activities designed to ignite the curiosity and creativity of young minds, blending history with hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities.  New this year: We now have camps for children ages 6 – 14!

All camps include behind-the-scenes tours, guided walkthroughs of our extensive collection of artifacts and historic streetcars, time to explore our 21,000 square foot Welcome and Education Center exhibit galleries, and multiple rides on some of our favorite fully restored antique trolleys. Each day of camp also includes a snack.

Enroll your child in a program that sparks their interest in learning and a passion for history and STEAM. Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity for your child to have a summer full of fun, exploration, new friendships, a lifetime of memories, and STEAM-fueled adventures!

LEGO® Camp

Ages 6 – 8

Our most popular camp is back again this summer: Join us for a week of LEGO® themed building challenges, artistic creations, and more! Explore the world of engineering and investigate motion with moving vehicles like cars, boats, and ziplines. Create a brick self-portrait then try painting with LEGO® bricks! Design a LEGO® Town and Trolley Park, then ride down the rails aboard the LEGO Coding Express®.

LEGO® Engineering Camp

Ages 9 – 12

Dive into the world of engineering to construct the tallest towers, longest bridges, and fastest vehicles. Create a mini golf course, build a working claw hand, and design a giant wrecking ball. Use LEGOs® to practice printmaking, then finish the week by building sets, props, and characters entirely out of LEGOs® to create a stop motion movie masterpiece!

NEW: Tech Titans Camp

Ages 11 – 14

Discover how to program interactive games, apps, and animations using coding languages such as Blockly, Python, and Javascript. Dive into the world of robotics to use motors, sensors, and lights to design, prototype, and program custom robots with Hummingbird Robotics kits. End the week with a battle bot extravaganza!

STEAM Camp

Ages: 6 – 8

It’s full STEAM ahead in a camp dedicated to all things science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Explore the history of transportation from trolleys and trains to boats, cars, and planes. Make colorful explosions and harness the power of the sun to create dazzling works of art. Build working circuits out of playdough, mix up a batch of streetcar slime, and shrink a trolley down to pocket-size!

Extreme STEAM Camp

Ages 9 – 12

Discover how science, history, and technology come together as we explore the past and plan for the future! Design and construct a disaster-proof house, then whip up a fresh batch of color-changing streetcar slime. See if it’s possible to play a banana-powered piano using Makey Makey Technology, dive into coding with Sphero Robotics, then race robotic vehicles through high-speed obstacle courses.

History Explorers Camp

Ages 6 – 8

Travel back in time and discover what it was like to grow up more than a century ago! Explore the engineering marvels of sailboats and ships, covered wagons traveling the Oregon Trail, and the first electric streetcars. Create handmade toys and crafts, play historic games, then whip up old-fashioned sweets and treats. Identify native plants that families relied on for survival, then try your hand at growing a garden of your very own.
